Among the winter intercrops, line rye is the earliest intercrop in terms of yield and dry matter content. The variety HIGREEN is very early among the rye lines. It is an important asset in the choice of the species to be established, because the spring climatic conditions are often quite dry. The earlier the harvest, the less intercropping penalizes the yield of the next crop.
The root system of lineage rye is powerful and the plant is relatively water efficient. Thus, this allows sufficient humidity for the next spring crop. The choice of a very early variety like HIGREEN is thus clearly justified.
The METHATEX mixture is THE ideal mixture for winter intercropping. It is made up of 60% HIGREEN line rye and 40% SY BANKOOK hybrid barley. These two varieties are very complementary in their behavior. This secures the supply of raw material for breeding or the methanizer!
